Burberry Prorsum – Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 London

Under a huge marquee in Kensington Park, Burberry Prorsum always puts on a huge show. With the sound of James Bay ringing out, outlines of the models came forward, featuring slightly flared denim jackets and cropped jackets as well as dresses that were light and see-through in tulle or chiffon. The colours were strong with a gradient giving a new dimension, as well as the positive words featured on the trench coats, all contributing to a more urban collection than [...]

Erdem – Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 London

Thomas Tait- Collection Spring/Summer 2015 London

Thomas Tait is the new talent to follow. Winner of the first LVMH prize, Tait’s new and fresh energy is clear to see and it resonates in his show. Working directly on the body, the designer wrapped the women with volume, by creating drapes and folds around the body, and also around the arms, creating a juxtaposition of balance. A jacket became a dress, the long coats exposed their coloured lining. A skirt was made out of leather squares in [...]

Tom Ford – Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 London

“Sensual rock” sums up perfectly the latest collection at Tom Ford. The well known designer took us back to the 90s which was the starting point for his inspiration. The eyes were outlined in black, the hair was back-combed to give the girls a chic look that perfectly complimented the outfits. Miniskirts were out in force, as well as longer versions with revealing slits, both worn with sequined jumpers. For the tailoring, wide leg trousers became the key feature with [...]

Mulberry – Collection Spring/Summer 2015 London

Mulberry chose a new location to show its latest collection, without artistic direction. The collection was shown in a studio that was presented like an English garden. Each piece of clothing was a representation of a particular flower, the white lace was light and romantic, perforated leather featured on a long dress as well as an assortment of jackets, also shown was brocade even on the wellies. On the accessories side of things the sandals and clogs were eye catching [...]

Mary Katrantzou – Collection Spring/Summer 2015 London

Mary Katrantzou always follows a very precise idea in her head and she continues it to her whole collection. For the summer 2015 collection the inspiration has gone back to mother nature and all things earthy. The designer played with stone colours and used nudes, browns and greys. The lace was woven to look like foliage together with the aspect of snakes and the scales of pythons. The tops had fine straps and the evening dresses were sculpture like, embroidered [...]

Matthew Williamson – Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 London

It seems that Matthew Williamson’s last trip to Bali was the inspiration for his latest collection. Tropical flower prints were featured on the clothes, especially noticeable on the flowing dresses, in shimmering tones. Some of the pieces were layered and started in pink then finished in yellow. Matthew added embroidery, sequins and even black feathers ending with beautiful sheath dresses. The tailoring took on a new dimension, it was much lighter, with loose fitting trousers and fluid shirts.

Sophie Webster – Collection Spring/Summer 2015 London

The presentation of Sophia Webster is always worth a watch. This season the show was set in a dark tunnel where graffiti rules. It was a perfect world to show the shoes of the designer which blended perfectly the new attitudes of the upcoming generation of designers – Sophie is only 30 years old herself! There was a fun mix with lots of colours to suit all tastes: jellyfish on wedges, sliders with embroidered bananas, graphic slip-ons, and heels with [...]

Topshop Unique – Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 London

For the new collection at Unique, the top ready to wear range at Topshop the inspiration was taken from the North of England at the seaside where the youth culture love to mix sportswear with more chic pieces to go out in. Short hooded jackets, flowing skirts, high waisted trousers with knitted crop tops, playsuits, leather jackets…as well as the much needed basics, and also for the queens of the ballroom, the see-through dancing dresses were embroidered with diamantes and [...]

Paul Smith – Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 London

Each season Paul Smith invites us into the heart of the famous Central St Martins School for the showcase of his latest collection. The models walked with elegance down the great hall, in both thick and thinly striped outfits. The culottes were baggy as were the light and oversized shirts, also featured were sleeveless blazers as well as jackets. The black trouser suit told us that Paul Smith is still the best at tailoring as well as being a great [...]

Hunter Original – Collection Spring/Summer 2015 London

After all the rain, now the good weather is back. For the second collection by Hunter Original, the creative director, Alasdhair Willis took us to an old swimming pool in the heart of London, the water was replaced by huge screens showing animated images created by Mait Maitland. On the catwalk the outfits were very much designed for the outdoors: with parkas, capes, and windbreakers worn with the latest designs of wedged shoes and boots. The rubber gave a trompe [...]

JW Anderson- Collection – Spring/Summer 2015 – London

You could feel the excitement in the air at J.W.Anderson, the designer in vogue, who is also the creative director at Loewe. Inspired by the world of Jacques Tati, the designer always gives his own take on new silhouettes: with wide-brimmed hats in black leather, the clothes on the models were belted, and the leather corset highlighted the waist. Also shown were cut outs, layering, and asymmetrical lines all created with a certain precision, like the trousers that featured gold [...]
